This story was able to sneak under the radar and managed not to get posted last week when it happened. In any case, without a doubt it’s a sight worth seeing, something mom would get a kick out of, and definitely a story worth sharing. Mom was always a fan of “firsts”, whether that be first buds of flowers pushing through the snow, or the first fireflies of summer–well, here we have the first snow to hit Cairo in 112 years!!!
Think about that number for a minute… 112 years. It’s entirely possible that 3-5 GENERATIONS alive today have not seen snow in Cairo.
WHEN you think Cairo you think heat and sand. But something unusual happened there overnight – it snowed!
According to local reports it’s the first time snow has fallen in the Egyptian capital in 112 years.
Incredible pictures show the normally sweltering city coated in white.
Egyptians took to Twitter to post their amazement in words and pictures.
